At Lightful, we believe that those doing the greatest good deserve the best technology.
We’re passionate about making the best technology accessible to charities and nonprofits. Our products and custom solutions help organisations unleash the power of technology and make the good work they do even greater. Our products and services are designed to simplify the work and amplify the impact of charities and nonprofits.
There are three main products and services we offer to charities and nonprofits; the Lightful Social Media Manager, the BRIDGE Programme and Lightful Labs.
The Social Media Manager is a platform which allows organisations to create, schedule and publish content to their social media pages. It is the only social media platform designed specifically for those in the charity sector and was ranked the number 1 for Social Media Management platforms built for non-profits. https://lnkd.in/dTKJmkm
The BRIDGE programme combines a learning syllabus, delivered through a combination of live and recorded sessions and webinars, with the Lightful Social Media Manager. BRIDGE is supported by foundations and other funders, and offered out to small to medium charities that they support. The use of our social media manager helps participants to save time, learn best practice and collaborate internally more effectively. The syllabus focuses on four key digital foundations - basics, storytelling, fundraising and insights. We take participants through these foundations helping them to improve confidence and competence. The BRIDGE team has worked with the likes of Comic Relief, DCMS and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Lightful Labs is a digital consultancy that offers customised services to help teams to do more. The Lightful Labs team have worked with the likes of Help Refugees, London’s Air Ambulance and the Rhodes Trust to name a few.
Our Values are integral to the Lightful culture:
We are looking for a Lead Back-end Engineer to join our team. We are particularly interested in someone with DevOps experience, and/or experience managing AWS services. You should feel comfortable making decisions about our architecture and leading technology decisions on the back-end, building CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud services and writing database migrations.
We have a serverless architecture, utilising AWS Lambda to execute micro-services including our central GraphQL API, and use PostgreSQL, SNS, SQS and DynamoDB. On the client side, React is our framework of choice. We are moving to TypeScript, having managed types with Facebook’s Flow up until now. We are an open-minded team and appreciate introducing new tools and ways of working.
We pride ourselves on being vibrant, trusting and a cross-functional scrum team working on a platform to improve charities’ skills at social media management. A high degree of empathy with end-user needs - those of charities, beyond profits and organisations across the third sector - is at the centre of the work we do, so we’re looking for someone who is motivated by making a product which will make a major difference to our users.
Inclusion of a diverse range of opinions and perspectives is core to Lightful’s open culture and ongoing success. Therefore we never discriminate on age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
You will be a part of our vibrant culture that fosters personal growth and development. As we expand, you will be given the opportunity to thrive in a close-knit team environment.
